For braving all odds and stoutly defending the rights of Igbos to live and carry out their businesses anywhere in Nigeria, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai was today honoured by the Igbo Community in Kaduna.
At a colourful and impressive ceremony marking the Igbo Day Celebrations, Governor El-Rufai was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Ocho – Udo Ndigbo” (Peacemaker of the Igbos).
I sincerely thank the Igbo Community in Kaduna for finding our dynamic and resourceful Governor worthy of this recognition and honour. The Igbos share a lot in common with our dear Governor. They are a unique people; industrious, hardworking and resourceful. They have made immeasurable contributions to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State in particular and Nigeria in general.
I am particularly happy that the Igbos have remained one of the most peaceful communities in our dear state. I urge them to continue in the same spirit for the progress and development of Kaduna State.
Once more, my deep appreciation to the Igbo Community in Kaduna for the honour done our Governor. It shall be well with the Igbo Community in Kaduna.
Mal. Uba Sani
